I've been coping pretty well with our shelter in place. The high-crisis environment isn't very difficult for me to live with, most likely because of my relentlessly high-stress/crisis childhood, and because living with mental illness has given me skills to cope with crisis, in great part.

I think yesterday was the first day I began to feel slightly more burden than ability to cope. Thankfully, our governor (Gavin Newsom) is terrific. We've been sheltering in place since early March. But as of yesterday everyone in my county has to wear a mask. I had already been wearing a mask to the grocery store and laundromat (the only places I go now). But it was so odd to suddenly see everyone wearing a mask. Every floor is taped off (social distancing). People are mostly very kind, yet very tense.

Anyway, we're in for the long haul.
