I found a wonderful home for my Samoyed mix, Kelley, who was very unhappy and escaping daily from my fenced yard. She had been this way since I moved to this new small house, which I actually bought because of the fenced yard and safe location for her and my three cats. She went to a home on 78 acres, where the new owners tell me she is so happy, and "sleeps with two of the tripletts," also waiting for them at the door each day to return home from school.
But...today, I went to pick up one of my cats at the vet, and there was a dog there getting his shots in the waiting room. She was a merle black and brown mix mongrel, looking kind of like a cross between a retriever and a hound. She immediately began to lean against me and didn't want to go to her owner, who said she "stinks" and he is going to put her outside. I was so touched by this dog! He said she needs her "%#@&#! ducts" removed, or something to that effect, and he didn't want to spend the money. She knew all kinds of commands and is just 9 months old. Am I crazy?!!!! I"m thinking of contacting the vet office and asking for the owner's number to offer to adopt her! She's not even that pretty, but such personality, and so affectionate to me! I said I"d never get any more dogs!
