I don't see anything wrong with getting back into a treatment regimen that works for you, if it's the alternative to avoiding a full blown relapse. In fact I'd say it's good self care.
But I also have the view that it's totally acceptable to use medication to manage an addiction, and I got some flack over that back when I was still doing AA. No longer in AA. I take 2 meds gabapentin which reduces cravings and Antabuse as a deterent since I know I'd get really sick if I drink. Those along with counselling have helped me get to the sobriety I have today.
