But I also have the view that it's totally acceptable to use medication to manage an addiction, and I got some flack over that back when I was still doing AA. No longer in AA. I take 2 meds gabapentin which reduces cravings and Antabuse as a deterent since I know I'd get really sick if I drink. Those along with counselling have helped me get to the sobriety I have today.

Thanks that's kind of the answer I was going for, I just felt like someone was Judging. Glad to hear you maintain your sobriety and I totally agree if meds work for you then keep working towards a better sobriety while they are helping.
