just an FYI... some stores (e.g., Wal-Mart) have been selling open-box Xbox One's and trying to pass them off as new. I paid $500 for an Xbox One X and when I went to pick it up at Wal-Mart, the asshole customer service guy said it was never opened, despite me pointing out the pieces of tape that he used to close it again. The seals were definitely broken and he insisted that's how they were. But the box rattled, so...


I think you should make sure you have all the pieces/parts. Lots of consoles come w/ download codes in the box, and people will send the Xbox One back to the store after they've redeemed them. It's a common thing apparently. People also "try out" an Xbox One and then return it within 30 days because open box returns are actually accepted on the Xbox One consoles. I read about it on Reddit.

The asshole Wal-Mart guy refused to give me another Xbox One X, btw. He was like, "well, you have to order it online again if you want it. The ones in stock here are meant for people to purchase online and pick up." Ummm... no. So I told him I wanted a refund. He gave me a hard time and that's when I just went to Best Buy. No problems there.
