Does anyone in the Mid West get the commercials with the California Happy Cows? I love the one where the cows are out to pasture and a quake strikes, the ground splits then the camera goes to one cow. When the quake stops, she says "AAWWW" with regret. LOL That's about how it is out here in CA. My middle son used to love to get on his bunk, the top, and ride them out. He'd basically say the same thing when it was over, "AAWWW".

I used to freak out like crazy with the slightest movement of the ground but now I just sit and watch things sway, like my hanging plants. No big.

The Northridge Earthquake was a really good one though. Somewhere in the upper 7s I think. It was very early in the morning. I was sleeping in an old fashioned water bed and that thing really rocked and rolled! You could hear transformers exploding all over the place. S. CAL did suffer quite a bit of damage from that one. No electricity, so no gas pumps worked. Doors to stores were locked shut, cash registeres didn't work and so on. You can imagine.

Gasoline was a biggie for us because we had a generator that ran on gas. We made it just fine, though, probably because we lived out in the country and we were used to roughing it.

Ya'll stay safe. I'm sure California will be joining you sometime soon. Those little earthquakes are welcome any time, though. Keeps us from having "the big one."
