My first quake when I lived in California was kind of funny. I was standing on a chair to change a lightbulb in my room, and it felt like a train or big truck went by. I fell off the chair but fell on the couch so no big deal. I just thought I lost my balance. But then I went outside a few minutes later and the railing was jiggling and some neighbors were talking. I guess it was about a 4.5 or 5.0 quake. Just kinda felt like riding a wave. I thought it was kinda cool! But it could be scary if there was more damage, or you didn't know what was going on.
