They like to use propofol and ketamine combination around here. I really wish they'd give the ketamine a little bit first. I had that for pain in the ER last time and they probably could have done the surgery with me wide awake on it. It kept me very awake but not at all alert. I did not care how bad anything ever hurt. I remember staring at the ceiling the entire time because it was so very interesting. My parents said I was drooling and babbling and talking to nothing like it was my old buddy.
I remember the propofol going in and thinking how strangely it suddenly tasted then they told me to count down from ten. I don't remember anything until I woke up. They could have cut me wide open and I'd never know it.
Oh wait, they did! And I didn't know it... Until I woke up.
(Made little joke there, didn't I?)
I got some sleep earlier, but 3pm to 9 isn't ideal. I'm going to try to fall back asleep and I've set many alarms to get things done in the morning before the wonderful journey of prep begins. I've had my last solid food until at least Thursday.
