My husband has been drinking since I met him, I understand exactly how you feel. I've tried everything to encourage him to quit.....he won't. I think the only way he will quit is if he decides he truly wants too. Our children and I will be long gone out of his life by then. In some aspect I am hopeless, I believe he will never quit and he will die this way.

It's very hopeless, it's a horrible feeling knowing you can't change the person you love to do better for themselves and for everybody else too.
