I am SO JEALOUS that you got a Mustang for your first car! (I coveted the '67 convertible)
Mine was, however, the fabulous, unbeatable VW Bug...as was the second, and the third, then came the Dart, Plymouth, (all used, all self-maintained then), ......did have an old Saab once...My parents' first car, when we moved out of the city, was a Dark Green Buick that they babied till they got a Dark Green Dodge Coronet 440 that I drove and happened to be the very same car our undercover cops were driving, same year...lol
I learned standard on a vw and a 1944 Mercury (three on the column)
