For me, even after 10+ T’s over 30+ years (for anxiety and CPTSD) that initial call is always the hardest. It took me a month of writing and rewriting an email to my current T. So, my experience is that it gets easier (slowly) after initially reaching out. The anxiety before that first season is really hard too.
If I had to do my therapy experience over again my advice would be don’t settle for someone you don’t feel comfortable with.
