I sometimes like to distract myself when I get thoughts like that, or also changing my focus (to music, or to an audiobook, or something like that) helps.
I also find that if I can just acknowledge those types of thoughts as just being thoughts and nothing that I have to act on or think about a lot, I can let them go. Hopefully that's somewhat helpful...

Thank you, yes I can do that, I like using music and Netflix distractions, they tend to improve my mood
