Yeah I understand that. Something to consider is that art often benefits from other fields, too.
For example, you can use your experience in some other field, be it engineering or medicine or whatever, to benefit your art. I do that all the time with my writing, anyway. I use my personal and educational background to help me come up with stories and what not.
