I am reading a very interesting book by Sam Harris called "Waking Up". Sam is a neuroscientist of some sort who became interested in meditation as a way of transcending our active and impermanent daily world.

I first heard him on a podcast where he described a beginner's experience of meditation, where, he said, the first thing you notice is that your mind is completely out of control. He describes the "blizzard" of our thoughts as they shoot in an out-of-control way across our mind.

I think that not only the mind, but the body, can be out of control or out of balance and that's why medication can help some of us.

But the subject is HUGE, and I, like the rest of you, wish there were better answers. Just to experience the suffering on this forum is heartbreaking.

As always, much love to all.
