I have fatty liver disease and cirrhosis but from psych meds not being an alcoholic. My dad is an alcoholic and has been most of his adult life. I do not know how much he drinks now as he lives in another state. Sometimes when I call him he doesn't seem quite right and my sister- also is not an alcoholic- says the same and has seen him in very bad states in the hospital. Several years ago now he went on a "brothers weekend" and ended up in horrid withdrawal because he just stopped drinking cold turkey for the trip. I'll spare you the details.
