Why would you jump to an extraordinarily rare cause of sleep issues when there are far, far, far more common causes out there? Do you have a known history of exposure to prions? Do you eat elk or venison? Do you even have elk in India? Other potential animal sources? Or a family history of a genetic prion illness? Any other neurologic symptoms? Autonomic dysfunction?

Your sleep issues are much more likely to be due to something mundane and frequently seen. Do you have any other potential potential causes? Stress? Depression? Anxiety disorder? Any other symptoms of bipolar disorder, say? Have you seen a sleep expert or psychiatrist?
