What you could potentially do is ask your doc if you could switch to a longer acting benzo like clonazepam. That's what I did. I literally could not get off Xanax (sorry to say, it's very difficult to wean off of Xanax).

So we just switched to clonazepam (Klonopin) and I'm doing great now and the anxiety is still treated.
