I wonder if the covid situation is making matters worse at the moment too. Where I live most T's are only offering phone or online therapy and it doesn't seem that a lot are keen to take on new clients. The problems with getting back to you sound very frustrating though. I agree that if you haven't heard within a few days just assume it's a no and move on.
