So, bpd and bipolar 1 are sometimes confused with one another, it is true. If you do have bp 1, say, then hypomania is not uncommon, as you must know. The reason it is of concern is that the progression from hypo to mania is unpredictable. It might not happen at all. It might happen in five minutes. Mania is a psychiatric emergency, because people may be a danger to self or others. So, this is why hypo is so important.
So, you are only on diazepam and zopiclone? What about a mood stabilizer like lithium or depakote or something? Those first two meds are not really treatment of choice for hypomania.
