Schizoid Personality Disorder and Schizophrenia do differ in very important ways.

I don't really see how studies can say that childhood events don't contribute to Schizophrenia, but do contribute to Schizoid Personality Disorder. And Schizoid personality disorder is considered by some to be a mild form of Schizophrenia.

I don't think the research is very clear at the moment.
