The basic difference between the two is knitting is with two needles, and crochet is with one hook.
The basic crochet stitch and a basic knitting stitch do look different.
Honestly I’ve come to prefer crocheting. You don’t have to hold onto all the stitches on a hook unlike knitting, and it’s much quicker.
I only know simple stitches of each. I just do it really to keep my hands busy while I’m watching tv. I really started back when I was having trouble idly pulling out my hair and it distracted me and I got... dare I say - hooked [emoji23]
