Hi @
jesyka,
I’ll answer, as I see no one else has yet.
I am not diagnosed with OCD, but think I have a mild case. Here’s why:
1. I have a habit of typing, just in the air using my fingers. I’ve done it as long as I can remember, having learned how to type at age 7. I type what people are saying, especially in class with teachers. I’m barely conscious that I’m doing it. I do believe it is different for everybody as to what they do to exhibit OCD.
2. I believe my case is very mild. I have heard of others who have it severe to where it debilitates their lives.
3. I don’t repeat myself with words. I do get into repetitive thoughts though.
4. I have read that control and rituals can be part of OCD. I don’t have this. Mine is just more of a nervous habit. Again, I’m not sure I have OCD.
5. As I mentioned the typing is something that seems like OCD. From what I read, I do have some other traits. But, in other diagnoses I’ve read about, those traits overlap into them.
6. No one else has ever noticed my typing or thought (commented that) I seemed repetitive.
7. I don’t try to control the typing. It doesn’t bother me.
8. When I have mentioned my concerns about the OCD to doctors, they ignore me.
9. I think the trigger is nerves, anxiety, boredom, needing more to do like multitasking, overactive mind?
10, sorry, I messed up on your numbers and ran out missing an answer
I hope this helps you.
