Btw, I had to live with my parents at the age of 42 because I had had a mental breakdown and needed a place to stay with only very part time income. And I had to live with them for four years while I got back on my feet. So it's not unheard of if an adult needs to stay with parents while they get back on their feet. I won't judge someone for needing to move back with parents temporarily.
I am not sure WHY exactly he would opt for this option though. He may not be able to afford a place on his own, but he could certainly get roommates and be OK. Perhaps it's just easier for him to move to Florida. He wants to be closer to his sick elderly parents anyways. They are not well and his father could pass away at any time.
I think he just views it as a way to get a fresh start.
But really, what do I care at this point, right? The further he is away from me, the better.
