Thanks, everyone, for sharing.
My parents' house was robbed, too, and they stole my father's wedding ring. I guess it's a real target. At first thought, it would seem hard to believe that a wedding dress would be a target, but I guess I can understand, given the prices of many of them. Or would a robber just take it to be extra mean?
My husband was married for about 7 years before I came into the picture. I think my husband still has some wedding photos, but nothing else. He certainly doesn't look at them, to my knowledge. I guess if I survive him, I'll definitely scrap those.
divine, I'm glad you gave your wedding album to your daughter.
I never had children, so won't be sharing any of my wedding stuff with anyone beyond my husband and me. My dress still looks lovely, but it would never fit again. Even if I reached that same weight (things upstairs have grown as a result of a couple meds). I remember that the wedding dress fitter did a lousy job of measuring me. She ordered a dress that was too small. I tried to lose more weight (I wasn't overweight at all), but it was still too big around my hips. They didn't fix it right even after that. I remember crying and crying. My mother simply did a bit of a ripping job on the ultra tight inner skirt/slip part, that wasn't noticeable on the outside, and that worked. She saved the situation
I was married on a slightly rainy May day, too.
