I agree, Fuzzy. I think it's just so easy to push someone away online mainly because it doesn't feel anywhere near as personal as it does in actual life. What I have learned is that it can be just as devastating, though. I'm sorry you're going through this. It doesn't mean it's your fault. I think a lot of times this happens because it's very easy for some to simply have this feeling that the screen is a buffer to the fact that it's a real person with real feelings on the other side of this machine we call the internet.
