Thanks for posting this. I wish I had some words of wisdom to offer in terms of what to do to fight the urges you're having. Unfortunately I don't. In my own case, I'm an old man. (Well sort-of... it's complicated.) And despite being way old enough to know better, a little while back I started self-harming again for no particularly good reason that I can think of.
I knew what I was doing was a very bad idea. But I went ahead & did it anyway which caused some additional injury to what is already an untreatable condition I'll have for the rest of my life. It just seems like these urges to self-harm never really go away. (At least that's how it feels to me.) I presume the "answer" to these sorts of urges is to use grounding techniques.
