(((((DepressMe)))))))
I really, really know that feeling. Some time ago my boyfriend & I were taking a weekend getaway at a freind's riverhouse. The phone rang at like 4 a.m.. The only phone in the small little riverhouse is in the kitchen so, I had to get up and walk there. In my dead sleep all I could think of is it was my mom and here I was 22 miles away! (She's almost blind so I constantly worry about her.) This lady (not a police officer) just assumed I was this guy's mother and said, Ma'm your son has been in an accident but he's ok. Her voice was trembling. I kinda tried to focus from the sleep and said, "Who are you looking for?" And she said, "Mrs. SO & So". And I said, "I'm sorry you have the wrong number."
I had a hard time going back to sleep for two reasons. One - all I could think about is what if that was my mom - what would I do 22 miles away? And #2 - I hope that poor person was not out with a drunk driver (our county pretty much revolves around alcohol and partying). I went back to bed but it took me awhile to get back to sleep so - I totally understand. And it's hard to function with broken sleep.
Funny how such as small thing can affect you in such a big way! I know! I hope you get more than your 40 winks tonight to recover!
