On the other hand, I am a mandated reporter as well, and I know that calling the police isn’t a decision that is ever made lightly. I would be curious to know what has transpired recently between you two to make them believe that you or someone else was in danger. Because for that to be the reaction that your psychiatrist made, they had to believe they had a duty to protect. If you don’t feel comfortable sharing what happened, that’s fine. But I would take this opportunity to assess what’s been going on with you and how you present that would make people think you’re at risk. Do you need a higher level of care?
