I watched a news broadcast last night and his wife has talked about the fact that people ARE seeing his behaviors and they ARE concerned. She mentioned that he is bipolar and lately it's been getting out of control and his mood swings have been going from one extreme to the other. They also showed an interview he had from the past where he was explaining the mania and how it brings on such an incredible high that it's hard not to get swept away by it.

A mania/manic episode can give someone this belief they have "special powers" and are gifted and can "save the world".
