I really do think it's a blessing. I did take it personally at first and it took me a full day to turn around my thinking and my negative thoughts on the whole situation. But now I get a much needed mental health break and I can get paid for it, I no longer have to deal with a toxic work environment, and I no longer have to deal with a bully toxic boss. Don't beat yourself up if you do fall off the cliff. You have received an unexpected blow, and you will probably be all over the place for a while. And that would be normal.
I've found for myself to just allow the feelings to come up without stuffing them down, and they'll pass sooner.
