(((HUGS))))) to you my friend. did you go to florida this summer?

Was Steve well enough to go?

We flew and rented a car. that was so
much easier than having to take that 2 day drive.

How are you today? How is steve?

Oh boy this year has been a nightmare..

The end of the Christmas Florida trip Steve started having horrible headaches came and went over a few weeks then in February... Steve sister had a brain bleed , There Mom died of a brain aneurysm. The one Cindy had the neurologist told her can be hereditary so we got a MRI the next day, No sign of a potential problem , but we went to see his neurologist and he walked in and said ok we will get to the migraine issue but first you have 20% brain volume loss .. my heart shattered.. The cognitive issues that hes had for years we and our Doctors thought were from Gabapentin or Lyrica .. No ...So he failed some very basic neuro testing but wanted to get the headaches under control , who can think with migraines .. A month later he did only a very slight bit better .. then covid hit

In March Steve got a lung infection Not covid just typical for severe COPD. Well long story short 6 rounds of different antibiotics based on culture results and he was no better,, Then he just crashed I got him to the ER and had to leave him at the door and drive home alone .he needed insulin in the hospital , came home on Metformin and got worse and worse. He was so confused and starteed yelling at me , this wasnt my husband , got him right in with the Doctor.. Now on Glipizide and doing much better

He hasnt driven since about an hour on the trip home from Florida , we just dont think it is safe yet.

So no trips to Florida because of COVID. we are both high risk, his oldest Son wanted to come , I called our Doctor and they said to follow CDC guidelines ..

Florida testing is taking 7-9 days for results.. If exposed symptoms can appear starting as early as day 2 up to 14 ..SO if they got test and heard 7 days later it was negative they could have been exposed the day after the test . SO it sucks but its not safe for any of the kids to come.

Steve only goes tot he Doctor or hospital, I do all the shopping and every thing is sprayed and wiped down before I bring it in..

I woke up one day and had the most god awful sore throat ever... I was in a panic called the Doctor said if you still have it or a temp in 2 days let us know.. No temp but sore throat , they sent order to hospital for a test and I got my results just over 2 hours later , was negative thank god. Ihad started Metformin 4 days before and we assumed it was the cause.

So Steve has been sick literally ALL year ... Just the other day he was finally able to get out on the mower. I've had to do everything all year , its been hard but I am so glad he is getting better, Still cognitive issues and I hope they go back to the level of before he got lung infection..

So Early Dementia of some kind, The Neurologist isnt in a hurry to label it yet..

Very very rough year !

Im glad you had a nice trip ! Yes flying much better than the drive.
