I went today, and I think I like her so far. But it's just the first appointment - don't want to get my hopes up too high.
She was really nice, very genuine, listened to me a lot, and was not judgemental at all about some of my past.
She has a huge bookshelf - and there was nearly an entire shelf devoted to books about Borderline. She had all the books I've read, plus several more. This is a good sign.
Now the question is - she does meds & therapy. Do I use her for both? Geez, I can't decide. I'll keep going to her and the other therapist for a while, and maybe eventually figure it out. Much better to have two people helping me than zero. This is good.
She did put me on Lamictal in addition to the Zoloft, and upped the dose on the Zoloft. Which I agree with.
Oh, and I know this is stupid...but her office was painted a really pretty purple color, and she had a picture of the Eiffel Tower over her desk. I love France, Paris, and I have a collection of Eiffel Towers (little trinkets, a necklace, a lamp...everything). And my favorite color is purple. Oh, and the couch in the waiting area is comfy. Lol....but anyway...so far so good.
