I go through times when my emotions are right underneath the surface and just burst forth. Little things- like a tv show or reading a book or a saying on a mug or a memory of when my kids were little. Once, there really was no reason, I just sat on the edge of my bed sobbing. One of my kids came and asked what was wrong but I had no idea.
