My dad is like that...he doesn't see meds as something important but for me if I don't take them I end up in the hospital withing 1-2 weeks.

No, it's not fair for us, but it's a necessity for us. People that don't need them will never know how much of a life saver they are for us, let alone understand that we do need them.
