I always suggest "finding a family"

the movie itself isn't about bipolar, the movie is about a boy who is searching for a new family because he has a bipolar mother and she is constantly unable to take care of him (always in the hospital)

she's not really in much of the movie, but in the first 20, 30 minits their are some sceens involving her snapping at the kid, having an argument, and flushing her medication down the toilet (their's even a sceen where the person next door comes round to complain)

the rest of the movie is just about alex, and his search for a family
