I think mouse droppings would upset a lot of people tbh. Being yelled at too. Honestly I think this would have upset me too. It sounds like she realised her behaviour was uncalled for when she became gentler. You did a good job turning away imo. It's difficult to know what to do when triggered and feeling vulnerable but that seems sensible and wise to me.
