This is a cool thread....being an esteemed member of the bipolar club (i say that with love, cuz i love my tribe) I too struggle with sleep. Honestly, daily exercise really helps. Especially if it is intense exercise for at least 30 min per day. Now, I know not everyone wants to hear that, but even walking helps.
Now that said...i also take ambien. Yes, it is addicting and is certainly NOT for everyone. But managing my bipolar, mood fluctuations and ensuring my sleep each nite so I could work the next day & function is more important in my lifestyle when weighing the addiction piece of ambien. AGAIN, not for everybody I know and should be discussed with your medical doctor.

I’ve also had sleep studies done...they are fascinating and can tell you a lot about your sleeping habits, REM states and identify any sleep apnea disorders.
