My first mental health diagnosis was major depression at age 33. Became manic and psychotic at 41 and picked up a bipolar 1 diagnosis. I am now 56 and my illness has become more and more classically schizophrenia-like. We are not sure what to call it.

Reviewing school records and talking with persons around me as a little one, it is now crystal clear that I had early childhood-onset bipolar-schizophrenia illness of a sweeping kind.

So, your story is not at all uncommon around here.
