Yes...that would actually be my #1 reason for boycotting Wal-Mart, although the crowds get to me too. I've taken enough economics classes to know that competition is a GOOD thing for a free market economy. Makes no sense to save $1.00 on your shampoo if the guy putting the shampoo on the shelf has to go on government assistance just to make ends meet and the manufacturer has to use cheaper, lower-quality products to meet the retailer's prices. Wal-mart is putting backwards pressure on the system - forcing manufacturers to make something for a set price, rather than the manufacturer selling to them and the retailer adding a markup.

I actually did a research project for my cost accounting class on Wal-mart & Rubbermaid. Very interesting.

I haven't set foot in a Wal-Mart since 2001, except to use the bathroom!
