Hi Shannondell. Welcome to Psych Central. I am sorry you are having problems with sleep.
I have a friend that has depression that is prescribed medications to deal with depression and lack of ability to sleep. Since everyone reacts to meds differently, for these it is best to see a psychiatrist or doctor.
If you want lifestyle changes that might help you sleep there are over the counter things like Melatonin, Chamomile Tea, yoga to help relax to sleep, and mindfulness like the
. I do that to become aware of my body but often fall asleep during it because it is so relaxing.
Exercises also help me relax too like 5 minute Tai Chi
