It has always been hard for me to move on. So much so, that I no longer try to attach myself to anyone. I'm 4 years since my last attempt at a romantic relationship, and 11 years divorced.
It really does have to do with who is doing the rejecting, and who is the "rejectee."
When I've been really sad and hurt, I"ve had to work like hell to get over it...too much so for sure. But it does get better, and, as they say, life is short, and life goes on. At times though, I've wished there was a pill that would take the feelings of hurt and rejection away. There is none. It just takes time.
