My Pdoc and T both feel Xanax is needed, Xanax is helpful when I have high pain also.
Theres lots of talk about how Xanax is bad and being on it long term can cause actual brain damage, But guess what?? so do all kinds of psych meds.
Buspar is another none Benzo medications that can help alot of people and its non addictive.
Just be open and honest with your Pdoc about how bad the anxiety/ panic gets..
What coping skills do you use when your having one???

I use counting, focusing on one object and describing it in detail, breathing. Those are what I've found most useful. I'm already on buspar.
