Hey ziggy1. I don't know you or your situation, but I'm very familiar with the reality that all caregivers need BREAKS at times. My mother took care of my Alzheimer's Dad for years. He wandered and it was a 36-hr. day job. Without scheduled breaks, when she knew he was safe and she could take a nap, or a walk, whatever, she simply could not have done it. We did not want to see her go down (she wasn't young) taking take of him. Losing one parent was bad enough. So, the long and the short of it is, imo, you DO need help. You can't take care of someone else unless you take care of yourself first. But, you're going to have to get over the pride of not asking for help. It isn't easy. I grew up that way too, but the world has changed and we all need to help each other more. Sometime there are even community services to give care-givers breaks. It's SO important to do this for YOURSELF!
Take care.
