I tend to overeate when I am depressed. Some people have told me that being fat is an eating disorder. Is it? I have been on various medications to treat bipolar and I have read studies that say these meds can make you put weight on. I find it hard to get motiviated and exersise. I have put on 100 pounds or more. I feel discouraged and angry at my weight gain. I also been diagnosed with a thyroid problem and I am awaiting upon surgery for it. I hate my body and all the weight I carry around. I find it hard to shop and all my cloths do not fit and I constantly have to buy new stuff which I find expensive.
Weight has always been an issue for me-being overweight or being fat which some people might say. As a result, I can understand people who struggle with anorexia and bulemia. All I could say is people in socieity our ignorent and make fun of people if their over or underweight. However, we can not beat ourselves up for having weight issues because our culture and fashion world have created wrong expectations of the female or male figure body.
We need to accept and love ourselves and try not to let others bother us about our weight.
Keep in control and Keep well!
