Yeah, this is something I think needs to be talked about more. It's the same reason it's so hard to get to sleep. After trauma, if we go into stress it separates us from the pain of the trauma so that we can make ourselves safe. It's really worth looking into Polyvagal theory, check out

I think recovery is incredibly painful, which is why is such a difficult thing to get help with. The only way I see is to keep reaching out, and there are people out there who will help you through the pain
