First off, melatonin hasn't worked for me, at all. It might sometimes help me fall asleep, but i awaken in an hour.
Seroquel - i'm trying not to become dependent on it so i don't take it every night. When i do use seroquel i take either 12.5mg or 25mg, no more. I take 1 dose of zzzquil.
Seroquel by itself doesn't help much, zzzquil by itself doesn't do much, either.
If given a choice, though, i'll take the zzzquil over the seroquel.
Although zzzquil is diphenhydramine, just like benadryl, it works better for me than other diphenhydramines do. Maybe because it's liquid. I don't know.
So, yeah, if i really want the best sleep possible i use the seroquel and zzzquil together.

thx for the formula of taking both if you need to. I've tried zzzquil but don't think i've combined with seroquel. I've never gone over 25mg. Seroquel unless really not sleeping and then i'll take another 1/2 of it. I've never gained weight taking it nightly til it pooped out. Replaced it with temezepam (benzo for sleep) and since i couldn't sleep any time today, which is weird, cause i can usually catch up next day, tonite i'm going back to seroquel with temezepam. I just shake me head about how many of us are so desperate for sleep....sad and tragic...researched on hot baths 90 min. Before bedtime for 10 min. And have been doing that as well...i think it does work! I'm female, 74, and sleep never was an issue years and years ago. Definitely blame covid and additional stress it's placed on all of us. Sad and tragic
