Mostly in America 55 has been regarded as the bench mark. And at the local restaurant sand grocery stores 55 is the age to start getting discounts. But many places have recently upped it to 62 because the baby boomers pushed a huge influx of seniors on business. Senior homes used to be 55 and up are now 62 and up. They had to have someway of narrowing the wait lists.
