I have BPII and ADHD and had to get the BP under control first. IMO BP people do well if not better on SNRI's or Tricyclics than SSRI's. Wellbutrin is a tricyclic and is also used off label for adhd when stimulants are not tolerated. But I found it very agitating. I also believe that nearly all BP people need a mood stablizer which is sometimes an antipsy. Lamictal is a good mood stabilizer and geodon is a good antipsy for me that is relatively weight neutral. I have never had mania with the adderall I take but like I said I was stable on the other meds first. But that doesnt mean a stimulant is off the table for you forever.
