I have shown my therapist several photos of people, but she has never asked to see one. That seems like the key difference. And she has never commented on anybody's attractiveness, although admittedly that has never been relevant to anything. (It would be weird for her to be like, "Ooh, your alcoholic father was smoking hot when you were a toddler!")
