It might not be the right size helmet for you - they come in different sizes and shapes. You might be better off taking it back and buying one that fits after trying several in the store. An ill-fitting helmet is not a whole lot better than no helmet at all.

If too late for that, then they sell extra pads that you can use to bolster the loose areas, but that should be your last resort.
